ON Saturday (Harlow’s 70th birthday), the Harlow Writers put on their annual presentation as part of the Essex Book Festival.

Robert Halfon, Harlow’s MP, attended and said how much had enjoyed the various items and appreciated the part that the Harlow Writers played in the culture of the town.

The pieces read ranged in variety from humour to sadness and loss showing the diverseness nature of the group. The oohs and ahs and bursts of laughter by the audience showed how much they appreciated the event.

The Harlow Writers meet every Thursday morning at Moot House in the Stow, Harlow.
