HARLOW Town FC can confirm that defender Layne Eadie will depart the Hawks when his current contract comes to an end next month.

“I would like to thank the best bunch of fans in non league! Even when the chips were down and we weren’t playing well, they would be right behind us and help us bounce back”

Eadie signed for the Hawks in September 2013 and has spent a successful four years at the Harlow Arena. He has indicated that he wants to play at as high a level as possible, and so will now move on this summer.

In his time at the Hawks, Eadie has made 216 appearances and scored 12 goals in the process, including his 30-yard goal against AFC Hornchurch in the 2015-16 playoff final that will be fondly remembered by Hawks fans.

The left-back went on to scoop a trio of awards at that year’s end of season presentation evening with the Manager’s, Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Year trophies.

Eadie said “I just want to thank everyone at the club for the past 4 years. It has been a whirlwind with lots of ups and downs but thankfully more ups! I wouldn’t be the player I am without the trust that Chappo Spence, my teammates and the board have shown in me!

“Lastly I would like to thank the best bunch of fans in non league! Even when the chips were down and we weren’t playing well, they would be right behind us and help us bounce back and that helped make us so formidable at home!

“I have made some good friends and got some amazing memories that I won’t ever forget! To everyone at HTFC I wish you the best for next season. Goodbye for now!”

We would like to thank Layne for his contributions on the pitch during his time at the Club, and wish him all the best for his future football career.

Layne will be in attendance at the Awards Presentation Evening on Friday 5th May, and tickets are still available for any supporters who would like to join us in celebrating another successful season. For more information, click here.
