Gymnast Sparkle2017 C&B Sparkle 20-May-2017

HARLOW Gymnastic club held the C&B Sparkle competition, an event that was open to gymnasts who train up to 2 hours a week.

Lola Andrews-Clark finished in 1st place overall, after being awarded gold medals for bars and beam, silver medal on floor and bronze medal on vault in the age 5-9 event. Lola Manuel received gold medals on vault and floor as well as bronze medal on bars to finished in second place. Aleisha Leh finished in 3rd place and took the bronze medal for floor. Lucy Brough won the silver medal on bars and bronze medal on beam to finish in 4th place along with Hannah Berry who received the silver medal on beam. Grace Smith was awarded silver medal for vault, Michaela Nevill won gold medal on bars, Sienna-Mai Dowling took bronze medal on bars and Imari Johnson received bronze medal on floor, in the same event.

In the age 9-10 event, Chanelle Wenz finished in 1st place overall and won the gold medal on floor. Narrowly behind in 2nd place, Maisie Parr received gold medals for bar and beam. Ellie Senior finished in 3rd place overall after receiving silver medal on floor and the bronze medal on bars jointly with Summer Toppin. Emily Forey won silver medal on bars and Jaime Reynolds won silver medal on beam. Elizabeth Chung received two bronze medals for vault and beam, with teammate Liana Owsusu finishing just behind in 7th position overall. Maddie Fairley was awarded with the gold medal for vault, Amy Kenway received the silver medal for vault and Sydni Barker took the bronze medal on floor.

Daisy Dove placed 1st overall in the age 11+ event and won gold medal on beam, silver medal on bars and bronze medal on floor. In 2nd place overall, Elena Dumitriu received gold medals on vault and floor, and silver medal on beam. Julia Swanepoel took bronze medals on vault and beam, Louisa Akers won gold medal on bars, Chloe-Anne Wenz received silver medal on floor and Grace Codlin was awarded silver medal on vault. Amy Gardener and Jessica Purser placed 7th & 8th overall respectively followed by Jessica Smith who won silver medal on vault and bronze medal on bars. Lily Gray, Eloise Tyrrell-Price, Casey Wise and Emily Mayer also competed in the age 11+ event.

The gymnasts also had to make their competition numbers and prizes for the best designs were awarded to Michaela Nevill, Grace Smith, Casey Wise and Lily Gray.

Competition organisers, coaches Belinda Macintosh and Chelsea Smith said “All the gymnasts performed brilliantly at the competition, we are very proud of them, especially those who were competing for the first time. They have all been working very hard in training to be successful at competition.”
