HUNDREDS lined the streets as they were entertained by the Harlow Carnival on Sunday afternoon.

The carnival, a favourite of Harlow from the fifties to the eighties, was revived by Harlow Council as part of the Harlow is 70 celebrations.

The parade started from The Stow and had a dozen or more floats as well as groups that paraded by foot.

It was led off by a town crier, followed by the chair of Harlow Council, cllr Sue Livings.

After making its way along First Avenue, it headed down School Lane.

The weather stayed fair, until then, when the heavens opened but by then everyone agreed it had been a perfect day.
