STEWARDS Academy has had an exceptionally successful year for its readers this year. All students use Renaissance Reading and have regular reading tests to monitor their progress.

This year we have an outstanding 84 pupils across all year groups who have read over 1 million words each! 19 of these pupils have read over 2 million words. The winner this year is Scott Carpenter in year 9 who has read a staggering 4,738,902 words! Students had a celebration in the Library and were presented with certificates to recognise their success.

Clare Bailey, Reading Manager, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the students involved. They really do have a love of reading and they relish the opportunity to read a range of texts provided by the Library.”
