PREPARATIONS are well underway at The Harvey Centre for the arrival of a very special visitor – he’s sure to turn a few heads! On Saturday 19th August, shoppers are invited to come and meet Terry the T-Rex (and friends), who will be in the centre at intervals between 11am and 4pm.

The incredibly life-like 7ft high and 12ft long character will astound the crowds with his fearsome blinking eyes and realistic dinosaur sounds. Known as Terry to his friends, the T-Rex will be accompanied by an eccentric Professor and his humorous Palaeontologist colleague, who will be on hand to answer audience questions. While Terry’s appearances may instil fear at first sight, he’s sure to win the crowds over with his endearing sense of humour.

During their show and tell sessions, the team will introduce ‘Terry Junior’ – a baby T-Rex – as he hatches from his egg, plus visitors will get the chance to see a precious dinosaur bone and dinosaur egg. Hang around between shows to witness an incredible animatronic hatching egg and baby Pterodactyl – both on display throughout the day – and even meet a baby dino in its crate!

Children are invited to take part in the centre’s FREE dinosaur money box craft workshops between 11am – 4pm, where they will be able to paint and decorate their very own ceramic money box to take home. Other activities include face painting, balloon modellers and Harvey the Hippo – so there’ll be plenty to entertain the crowds on the day.

Bryan Young, Centre Manager at The Harvey Centre says, “We’re really excited to be welcoming Terry and friends to The Harvey Centre! This is something totally different – we expect the activities to be incredibly popular on the day. It promises to be a lot of fun and very memorable for all ages!”
