Arek J

OVER the last few months,, we have asked the ministry of justice a number of questions regarding the bail arrangements in respect of the sixteen-year-old who was found guilty of killing Arek Jozwik in The Stow,, Harlow.

It is not a point that we will labour, but we feel it needs to go on the record.

We simply wanted to know why the teenager was granted bail when he was already on bail when he committed the offence of manslaughter.

We wanted to get to the bottom of the alleged breaches of bail where the teenager appeared to not be at the relevant addresses in Harlow on two occasions.

We wanted to know why he was bailed after having committed the offence of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

We wanted to know why he was bailed after having committed the offence of harassing and intimidating police community support officers.

We have asked on a number of occasions and to this date we have not had a reply.

We want to make it clear that we are not questioning the police in Harlow nor the Crown Prosecution Service. We get the distinct impression that they were equally frustrated.

If we ever get an answer, we will let you know.
