DEMOLITION work has begun in the West Gate in the Town Centre.

After a long time coming, fencing and men in high viz jackets have been very busy at the row of shops and offices in the town.

They were once a thriving group of offices and shops including hairdressers, banks, newspaper premises to name just a few.

YH understands that the West Gate is set to make way for a seven story housing development.
