Parkrun

AVID Harlow parkrunners will have to go further afield to get their weekly 5k fix.

A Harlow spokesperson said: “Due to the works on the cycle track extending and the path being dug up by the underpass, the route is currently unsafe to use and totally unpassable.

“We have therefore, for the first time ever, had to make the very sad decision to CANCEL this Saturdays event.

Please note, Ben Usher will still be doing his charity marathon and he will be looking for an alternative route to use around the park so do please still support him if you can, by joining him for all or part of his run. He will still be in the usual start point for 9am Saturday.

“Please spread the word to make as many people aware as possible so as few people show up on Saturday morning as possible.

“It is the first event we have had to cancel in three years. Please do take this opportunity to visit other local parkruns:-

“Gunpowder, Castle Park (new), Raphael is one of my personal favourites, Westmill (fairly new), Panshanger, Roding Valley, Brentwood if you need your weekly fix of mud and hills

“We will let you know about Saturday 25th as soon as we can”.
