Wych Elm

TWO officers in Harlow have helped to save a man’s life.

Sgt Nick Williams and Pc Brady Secker were called to Wych Elm multi-storey car park in Harlow just before 1 am on Thursday, January 4 following reports of a man in distress.

After arriving at the car park, the officers spotted the man sitting on the edge of the top floor of the car park with his legs hanging over the side. Pc Secker calmly spoke to him and reassured him that both officers were there to help.

After building a rapport and gaining the man’s trust, the officers were able to get close enough to the man to bring him to safety.

Sgt Nick Williams said: “We acted as any other officers would have in the same situation. I’m just glad we were able to prevent the man causing any harm to himself.

“Incidents like this can often be very challenging but I’m pleased that he is now receiving the help he needs.”
