THE FORMER leader of Harlow Council has laid out his version of the events that led to his decision to quit both as leader of Harlow Council and as a councillor.
Jon Clempner had been leader of the council since 2014 and had been praised for his leadership and sense of ambition.
Mr Clempner has now used his personal blog to give his side of events.

One of the key reasons appeared to be “An active campaign against his leadership by a local Momentum organiser”.
Mr Clempner then goes onto detail the chain of events after it appeared he was considering leaving in March.

We have contacted the Momentum Organiser, the chair of Harlow Labour and the acting leader of Harlow Council for a comment.
We have asked Mr Clempner for an interview but he has declined.
So, at last some of the truth has emerged. A Labour councillor being ambushed for the benefit of the REDS in 'arlow doesn't bear thinking about. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, trust LABOUR at your PERIL. From the horses mouth, momentum, a communistic group have really got their feet under the carpet with the assistance of locals. BEWARE.
