COUNCILLOR Emma Toal has been elected as the new leader of Harlow Council.

The Harlow Common councillor was elected at a council meeting in the Water Gardens last night (Thursday).

It was clearly a difficult day for the former deputy leader.

A blogpsot from the former leader of Harlow Council, Jon Clempner put his version of his departure on the record.

But despite being pressed, Cllr Toal would not go into details regarding meetings held between herself and the former councillor.

Cllr Toal paid tribute to cllr Clempner’s work but would only say that “We are moving forward with Public Health England coming, the hopes of relocating Princess Alexandra Hospital.

“We are sad to see Jon go but the council is not just one person. I have big shoes to fill.

“Our vision for Harlow is moving forward. We are not united in our vision.

Bush Fair councillor, Mark Ingall was elected deputy leader.

“Business as usual”Emma Toal.

Mr Clempner has declined a request from YourHarlow for an interview.

Is this woman up to the challenge of leading our council ? I've listened to her speak before and I felt that I needed a translator. Up to speed. Definitely not. LABOUR at your PERIL.
