Two seriously injured after crash at Harlow Mill

Statement from Ambulance Service

We were called to a report of a serious road traffic collision on London Road, Harlow, at 3.22pm yesterday.

Two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, air ambulance from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched.

They treated a man who had suffered a serious head injury who was airlifted to Royal London Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A woman with leg and pelvis injuries was also airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Cambridge Road, near to the junction of Hart Road, in Harlow today (Saturday, February 24).

Essex Police was called at around 3.20pm, with reports of the incident, and remain on scene while recovery and initial investigative work takes place.

It is believed that a Mini swerved to avoid a vehicle, and lost control, before colliding with street furniture.

A man has been taken to hospital in London in a life threatening condition, while a woman has been taken to hospital locally with serious injuries. Both these people were in the Mini at the time of the collision.

A person has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Cambridge Road is expected to remain closed in both directions until around 9pm tonight.

Hart Road is also closed at the junction with Cambridge Road.

EAST Herts Police has reported that they are at a serious incident close to Redricks Lane near Harlow Mill.

Emergency services are on the scene.

Statement from Fire Service: “Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle.

Fire crews worked with paramedics to help release two casualties trapped in the vehicle.

The casualties were released by 4:40pm and left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
