FOLLOWING the announcement of Toys R Us and Maplin’s administration this week, Harlow MP, Robert Halfon, has written to the Government to ask what they will be doing to support workers.
Commenting, Robert Halfon said: “I was very disappointed to hear about the closures of Toys R Us and Maplin. My primary concern is the residents who are employed at the Harlow branches of these stores, which have been part of our town for many many years.
I have already reached been in touch with the managers of the Harlow stores and the Jobs Centre to offer my support. I’ve also contacted the Government to ask what plans they have to minimise the negative impact the closure will have on local workers.
If any residents affected by this would like my help, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me by emailing [email protected] or calling my office on 01279 311451.”
