Response and Rescue Press Release

HARLOW Museum is teaming up with Epping Forest District Museum to bring blues and twos to our next exciting exhibition. Discover the amazing world of the emergency services and explorer how the Police, Fire, Ambulance, Lifeboat and Coast Guard went from simple beginnings to integral parts of our modern society and infrastructure.

Museum Rescue

Discover how Harlow’s story is woven into the emergency services by learning about important figures like Samuel Deards who captained the Harlow’s first Voluntary Fire Brigade; see the development of these establishments alongside the creation of Harlow New Town in post war Britain and how they strived to be a part of the community through Town Shows and educational demonstrations.

This exhibition engages all ages by providing a fun and interactive environment for children to play, dress-up, listen and learn while adults can explore own town’s vast and varied history. Interactive tools such as Audio Guides talk you through the exhibition and large-print guides are available for those who require it. This is an exhibition for all and we strive to make it as accessible to all.

Harlow Museum welcomes you experience our whole Museum, take in our beautiful walled gardens and have a break with a cup of tea or coffee in our cafe.
Whether you’re a budding Police Officer, Fire-fighter, Medical Staff, Coastguard or looking for something different this Easter, Harlow Museum and Walled Gardens is the place for you!
