Local Elections 2018: Bush Fair Tory candidate slams “car-crash” Harlow Council

News / Mon 2nd Apr 2018 pm30 12:31pm

Andreea

THE first district elections for two years are set to take place on Thursday May 3rd. You get the feeling the Conservative Central office has told local candidates to get the word “Momentum” into their election leaflet where they can.

The leaflet for the Conservative candidate for Bush Fair, Andreea Hardware, was going through the letter boxes in the ward on Easter Monday.

Burnt Mill Teaching Assistant, Andrea has told residents that she wants to “represent everybody, especially the large proportion of the residents that have been under represented for a long time.”

The leaflet also makes reference to “Momentum-dominated Labour are turning the council into a slow motion car crash with its series of disasters”.

Andreea’s leaflet concludes: “Do you want an incompetent Labour council run by fear?”

Looks like it is going to be a lively time between now and May 3rd.

A full list of candidates will be published later this week.

Well she would do wouldn't she. Scaremongering is the tactic that the Tories use when they have nothing positive to say, which is pretty much all the time these days. God forbid that we should focus on a weak government led by a weak prime minister and the DUP tail wagging the Tory dog. The Conservative Party use "Momentum" as a catch all term that includes younger people getting more involved in their lives and direction of their country and not buying the broken down ethos is the past, and they're terrified because they know what little power they have is ebbing away from them and their vested interests in the media and tax dodging set. These inspiring younger people use software, not hardware, to get their points across.

P.S. Harlow Tories: are the leaflets supposed to be all wonky and not the same way up when you turn them over? Asking for a friend.

Let's have a look at this "slow motion car crash" of a Labour Council in detail: 1. Freezing council tax in the budget. 2. Also in the budget, making a pot of £1 million available to improve neighbourhoods. 3. Bringing maintenance of the town back in-house with HTS, ensuring not only hands-on quality control but profits reinvested in Harlow. 4. Paving the way for Public Health England to move into the former GSK site, creating thousands of jobs in the town. 5. Campaigns including raising awareness of the problems of potholes across the town, road safety and demos for Osler House. Positive, progressive politics with local communities at the forefront. This is how you do it.

It worked, you noticed the wonky layout and upside down printing. So the former leader of Harlow Council decided to resign as he was no longer interested in Harlow and the council and nothing to do with the bullying, smears and intimidation by Momentum? Just like the leaders of three other Labour councils.

I see your point, it's perfect if someone opposite me is both long sighted and doing a hand stand and can read the other side. Hey, it happens! Here we go, the scaremongering continues. Next up: Momentum spotted on the grassy knoll as JFK drove past. Congratulations, you've fallen for the latest paranoid delusion of the right wing press, desperate to keep hope away from Number 10 and to keep younger people in this country in what Dacre Murdoch et al think is their place. Let's talk about bullying though. And Elliott Johnson. You know him. The Young Conservative effectively bullied into suicide by the group who used his sexuality as a weapon. The Nasty Party don't deserve to be anywhere near power and the sooner they're gone, the better.

More rubbish from the new mouthpiece for the party that's bullying the Jewish population. Never any substance, just innuendo and rumour. The Tories had absolutely nothing to do with the sad death of E J. What a vile creature you are to accuse anyone of participating in this boys suicide. Once again it shows that the COMMIES have no morals or scruples in their efforts to win power, at any cost. VOTE LABOUR at YOUR PERIL.

What was it the Respected former leader of Harlow Labour Jon Clempner called this current crop of Harlow Councillors ah yes "Amateurs" I see they are taking the credit for his work on the current budget, can't see them being so smug next year.

More potentially libellous accusations from Micky in the place of any actual argument. The family of Elliott suspected a cover up over his death and were subject to intimidation afterwards, including a member of the Young Conservatives sitting behind them at his inquest. Who's the vile creature now? Maverick son, your ego is writing cheques your body can't cash. I'll tell you what's amateur. A government going on a strong and stable ticket going to the country for an election they thought they'd walk only to be in hock to the backward looking DUP afterwards.

Amateurishness update: Saying you know precisely where a chemical used in an attack on the UK's streets came from two days after the event, then having your OWN EXPERTS saying they don't know precisely where it came from. What a farce.

" The man doth protest too much, methinks ". Desperation showing on all fronts for jfq. Spiteful comment about all and sundry doesn't gain him popularity, in fact he rants like a momentum man in distress.

If by "ranting" you mean wanting a better country than we have under the yoke of a failing Tory government that is an international embarrassment, being concerned about the homeless on our streets, kids going to school hungry, the NHS being privatised by Conservative Party donors and generally giving a damn about things, then yes I'm a "ranter". But the fact that you think that's a bad thing says rather more about you than it does about me.

I can't ever remember living in a country as described by jfq. Reads more like a satellite of the Stalinist era. Perhaps he's hoping that his momentum heroes will get around to changing Britain to fit this description. Remember when the Reds moved out of the Commons, "all the monies gone,we're broke". Is that the ideal scenario for them? VOTE LABOUR at your PERIL.

So according to Micky, there are no homeless people, everyone is fed and the NHS is safe in Tory hands. And who broke the economy in 2008? A handful of bankers and spivs making it worse for the rest of us, who just happened to be mostly Tory donors. Check the facts. The ideal scenario is for younger people to feel they have a future, for working people to have the protection they deserve and the elderly to have security. None of which they'll have under this heartless Conservative government working only for a few at the top.

The Harlow Tories calling their leaflets "In Touch" reveals a hilarious ignorance of crashing irony. The Tories are out of touch with younger people, whose university fees they've tripled, out of touch with working people, who futures they've jeopardised with a pointless EU referendum to sate the loony right wingers in their own party, and out of touch with older people, who are dying on trollies in overworked and underpaid NHS hospitals. Let's kick them further toward the dustbin of history on May 3rd and begin to build a country that works for all of us, not just those that can afford £25 k a plate at Conservative Party fundraisers.

Same old garbage from jfq. Always misquoting comment. I'm done with his warped views.

JerryFromQueens

Wanting a better future for others as well as yourself is not a "warped view", merely a recognition that we as a society have needs that are not being adequately provided by a government hell bent on keeping the rich rich and the poor poor. This Tory administration reels from one disaster to another, balancing on a wafer thin majority and every day reminds us of the international laugh stock they are. Don't expect me not to point it out, dude.
