Should The Chase in New Hall be a one-way street?

News / Thu 12th Apr 2018 at 03:59pm

The Chase

HAVE you ever driven down The Chase in New Hall. It is supposed to be a two way street but residents will tell you that it is virtually impossible to drive down without stopping, pulling to the side or squeezin gpast a car coming the other way.

There is now talk of yellow lines being put in place. They could be yellow, they could be double. Alternatively, the street could be made into a one way system. With more an dmore houses being built, there are bound to be changes in the New Hall area.

We contacted the Harlow councillor who holds portfolio for highways, cllr Danny Purton but he has yet to reply.

We will be discussing this with the councillors for the area at the weekend.

What's wrong with driving slowly on a short road in a heavily residential area? Clear the road and drivers drive at 40 mphr just like Kiln Lane.

Cram them in policy adopted by who, and it will get worse. They could have adopted a one way system, but motorists ease and comfort is not ever considered. If you think that's bad, wait until the loony plot by Gibberds gets up and running. End of the day, more profit for 'arlow council. qed.
