Business / Fri 13th Apr 2018 am30 10:14am

ESSEX Chambers of Commerce recently held a Round Table event at their Southend office. The event was open to all level of exporters and designed to assist them by focusing on trade opportunities within the Gulf. The event was well received by the delegates attending, with positive feedback.

Our panel of speakers included representatives from Arabian Gulf business & development consultants – Jennings International Limited, the Arab-British Chambers of Commerce and conformity & compliance specialists – Intertek. Collectively they gave an insight and overview into the six markets that make up the Arabian Gulf, or GCC (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates), along with helpful advice on ways to break into these markets.

Our businesses were advised to look at the ‘Visions’ each of these Arabian Gulf countries hope to achieve, to gauge an awareness on where their business could fit into this along the supply chain. They also revealed that there are over 22,000 active projects, worth $2.6 trillion, showing that there is much demand for UK exporter’s goods and services.

Jane Rose, Head of International Trade for Essex Chambers of Commerce said, “In a region where British products are well regarded and the demand is high for quality goods and services across a wide range of sectors, it is no wonder more and more companies are looking at the Arabian Gulf as a potential new export market. We are pleased that attendees found this event interesting and we hope to plan further similar events in the future”.
