Pledge to replace trees after burst water main damage on Second Avenue

News / Wed 18th Jul 2018 at 07:57am

A NUMBER of organisations have pledged to repair the damage caused after a water main burst last week.

Water came up through the earth in the middle of a tree lined area between Great Brays and Second Avenue in Harlow.

Work during the weekend saw a number of trees cleared away by workmen.

An Affinity Water spokesperson said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by a burst on a large water main on Second Avenue, Harlow last week.

“We had to remove nearby trees and bushes to access the main and carry out repairs. This work was essential to ensure the repair could be made and to restore water to customers.

“We are meeting with the local highways agency soon to discuss the restoration of the site following the burst.”

Harlow Council has told YH that they will be liaising with Affinty Water.
