ON THURSDAY, Robert Halfon MP visited the Moorhen pub in Harlow to welcome Natasha, a soon-to-be Greene King apprentice, to her new role. Robert has long championed apprenticeships and was delighted to find out more about Greene King’s Apprenticeship programme.
Greene King is the UK’s largest pub chain, with locations across Essex and the UK. In 2016, the company launched its ‘Get Into Hospitality’ programme, in partnership with The Prince’s Trust, aiming to address the skills gap that prevents unemployed people from getting into work. A year later, Greene King launched ‘The Craft Academy’, an 18-month brewing venture, led by apprentices as they earn while they learn about brewing, design and marketing.
Robert Halfon said: “One of the things I love most about Greene King is their commitment to and passion for apprenticeships. They are one of the biggest apprentice employers in the country and I was really pleased to meet Natasha in Harlow, soon to join the 2500+ strong workforce.”
