Wedding Bells after Harlow parkrun proposal on Christmas Day

THERE WAS magic in the air after a Harlow parkrunner proposed to his partner at the run on Christmas Day.

Harlow residents Debbie Cooper and Gary Mead set off on the 5k run around Harlow Town Park at just after 10am.

Debbie, a regular runner, planned to get round and then enjoy the rest of her Christmas Day. A number of family members had even come down to see her run.

But they had in fact come down to see Gary get down on one knee and propose.

When Debbie finished the run, she noticed one of her nieces holding a big sign saying “Auntie Debbie, Gary wants to ask you a question”

Gary did and he did and Debbie said yes!

Gary said: “I only decided to propose a couple of weeks ago. Debbie’s brother, Lee (Webber) is run director at Harlow park run and so brought his children to make the sign.

YH asked when will the big day be?

Gary replied: “Probably 2020. We are going over to Australia for a family wedding in 2019.”

On behalf of everyone who does the Harlow parkrun, congratulations too Gary and Debbie.
