ROBERT Halfon, MP for Harlow, has raised over £2,000 for the Princess Alexandra Hospital Charitable Trust through his sponsored swim of 2.2km.
Early on Friday 12th April, Robert successfully undertook the challenge of swimming 110 lengths of a local 20m swimming pool, in an effort to meet his £2,000 fundraising target for Harlow’s NHS hospital. Counting the lengths, and spurring him on, was Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Fundraising Coordinator, Graham Norcott.
This morning (Thursday), Robert’s £2,000 target was met and exceeded, with 68 donations via his Just Giving page.
Robert Halfon said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have met my target and raised more than £2,000 for our Harlow hospital.
“As an MP, patient and visitor, I see the brilliant work of the NHS team in Harlow and this money will help enhance patient care, improve facilities and invest in vital, life-saving research.
“It would be fantastic to raise even more and there’s still time to donate via my Just Giving page.”
This follows the millions of pounds of Government investment that Robert has brought into the hospital, including £9.5 million for more beds and funding for the new Charnley Ward, as well as his campaign for a new health campus in Harlow.
