THE NET Academies Trust schools in Harlow celebrated ‘Special Male Day’ this week. Each of the 5 schools held activities for pupils and their significant special males which was a big success.
The pupils Katherines Primary Academy spent a special morning with the special males in their lives. Dads, Brothers, Uncles and Grandads filled the School Hall to share a morning with their family members. There was a sports quiz to keep the brain cells busy as they tucked into a warm bacon roll with a cup of tea.
Once the quiz results were announced it was over to the Specialist PE Teacher who had set up an array of activities for the special males and pupils to enjoy on the school field. Golf, basketball and Archery were enjoyed in full. And even though a little damp when they returned to school, spirits were definitely still high, on this glorious day.
Meanwhile, not to be out done, over in the Early Years the special males were treated to dunk a doughnut with their children and were adorned with a handmade tie. A special day for everyone at Katherines Primary Academy.
Latton Green Academy welcomed the special males in the children’s lives to come and share some quality time with them in school. We had 80 dads, granddads, uncles and brothers join us in our design and technology themed morning. The hall was full of excitement as the event took place.
During the morning the children and their guests designed and made a bird feeder to hang in their garden. We saw some amazing results and received positive feedback from those that joined us for the morning.
The ‘Friends of Jerounds Primary Academy’ arranged a Special Males Day sale for all children EYFS to Year 6. They presented children with a wonderful array of gifts to choose from – which they then duly wrapped and labelled with the children. Many of our parent helpers, supported the children compose some poignant messages of gratitude and thanks for Dads, Uncles and Grandads, who work tirelessly throughout the year for our children.
Longwood Primary Academy & Nursery had over 80 fantastic men in the hall with their significant pupils. Over 200 bacon baguettes were eaten alongside a quiz with Mr. Hollinsley! Well done to all the teams and congratulations to Dad’s Army and the Mini Longwoods for both winning!
This week, Abbotsweld Primary Academy will be inviting special males and pupils to archery sessions throughout the day at the school to celebrate.
Thank you to all the special males that joined us to celebrate across NET Academies Trust.
