Makes me think of a song by the Specials.
Considering the problems that already exist in this area, and having read previous comments from Harlow council Labour group, permission couldn't be granted, for this development, could it ?
Seeing as my previous post is awaiting moderation here is the link again for the main application, probably not going to post my other links but do have a good dig through,
Oppps, here is the link. https://planningonline.harlow.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=PUUDJTHX01700&activeTab=summary
Thanks jarrett for the link. Micky, I had the same thoughts you did. There have been several plans proposed for re-development of other buildings in the same area. Some of those other buildings appear to be mostly 1 bedroom flats. I hope these other buildings will not turn out to be replicas of Terminus House. A very brief look at the plans for this development it appears to be more multi-bedroom flats, perhaps more suited to famlies. Less likely to have the same problems as Terminus House, perhaps?
These are new homes built from scratch unlike the office conversions nearby which can be difficult if not impossible to get mortgages on which is why they end up being let to homeless families by the buildings owner. This development along with others at Gate House will hopefully be the beginning of a new era for the future of the town centre, if only to provide badly needed (proper) homes and hopefully stop more shops becoming vacant.
