SICK vandals have vandalised and stolen from the grave of a much-loved teenager.
Former Passmores Academy student Marcel Jayden Bellairs-Honiss died aged just sixteen in March 2016 and is buried in Parndon Cemetery.
His father, Alan Honiss went to the grave on Sunday (Aug 18th) and found that precious items had been smashed and a number of memorial pieces stolen.
Among the items were footballs (Marcel was an Arsenal fan) and pebbles with personal messages to Marcel.
A visibly upset Alan put a personal message out on Facebook appealing for help.
Kind-hearted Harlow residents helped clean up the area. One of the footballs was later found in the Katherines area.
YH has spoke to Mr Honiss. He believes that this sickening act may have occurred on Friday night.
There was a great outpouring of grief when bike-fan Marcel died including a ride out in the Bush Fair area that saw hundreds of friends take part.
Responding to the vandalism of a grave at Parndon Wood cemetery, Astrud Matanle, the Manager of Parndon Wood Cemetery and Crematorium, said: “The vandalism to a grave at Pardon Wood cemetery on Friday is deeply regrettable. We have been in touch with a representative of the bereaved family and passed on our sympathies for this distressing incident. There can be no excuse for this behaviour which was clearly targeted.
In the coming days we will be meeting with officers from Harlow Council, which provides dog wardens to patrol and lock up at night.”
A justgiving page has been set up to raise funds for a headstone for Marcels grave.
This makes me very sad.
As moronic as moronic can get, who on earth bred these idiots. Feel sick to the core. Respects to dad.
