Paralympian Visits Purford Green School

FUN, fitness and fundraising was the order of the day when British Paralympic wheelchair racer, Anne Wafula-Strike visited Purford Green Primary recently.

As an advocate of equal opportunities, Anne gave a talk which inspired the children to be the best they can be and challenge the misconceptions often associated with disability. Every child in the school participated in fitness activities supported by Anne which showed everyone can get involved in sport, no matter what.

To top off an amazing day, the whole-school fundraising effort raised a staggering £1821 which will go towards training athletes and new playground and PE equipment for the school.
