Harlow man pleads guilty after crime spree across several counties

A HARLOW man who has pleaded guilty to a crime spree across several counties over the last three months is also set to stand trial for a number of alleged crimes of violence.

Ricky Brinkley, aged 27, of Redbrick Cottages, Little Hadham, Hertfordshire pleaded guilty at Chelmsford magistrates court to the following.

Between 01/10/2019 and 01/10/2019 at Harlow, knowing that payment on the spot for goods supplied, namely diesel fuel, was required or expected from you, dishonestly made off without having paid as required or expected and with intent to avoid payment of £30 pounds sterling.

On 14/11/2019 at Harlow had in your possession a quantity of cannabis, a controlled drug of class B in contravention of section 5(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971

On or before 03/10/2019 at Cambridge , stole approximately £40 of alcohol, packets of cigarettes and a Charity Box containing an unknown amount of money , of a value unknown, belonging to Co-operative Retail Services Ltd.

Between 29/09/2019 and 29/09/2019 at Drayton in the county of Norfolk , knowing that payment on the spot for goods supplied, namely 19.46 litres of diesel fuel, was required or expected from you, dishonestly made off without having paid as required or expected and with intent to avoid payment of 24.87.

Between 01/10/2019 and 01/10/2019 at Haverhill in the County of Suffolk , stole 2 x JCB 18 V series 5a Li-ion impact driver and 1 JCB battery 18id-5, to the value of £255.00, belonging to B & Q PLC.

Between 05/09/2019 and 05/09/2019 at Bishop’s Stortford in the County of Hertfordshire , stole Chicken, Steak, Chocolates and Wine , to the value of £18.85, belonging to Tesco Express, Havers Lane, Bishop’s Stortford.

On 15/09/2019 at Dunmow in the County of Essex , stole bottles of alcoholic spirits , to the value of £200.00, belonging to Co-operative Retail Services Limited, White Street, Dunmow.

On 08/06/2019 at Saffron Walden in the County of Essex , stole bottles of alcoholic spirits , to the value of £89.50 , belonging to Tesco Stores Limited, 40 Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden, Essex .

On 02/10/2019 at Chelmsford in the county of Essex , knowing that payment on the spot for goods supplied, namely Diesel Fuel , was required or expected from you, dishonestly made off without having paid as required or expected and with intent to avoid payment of £35.07.

On 06/06/2019 at Saffron Walden in the County of Essex , stole numerous bottles of alcoholic drinks , to the value of £615.00, belonging to Waitrose, Saffron Walden.

He is set to be sentenced on December 6th, 2019.

Brinkley is set to stand trial over two further alleged offences.

He has been bailed until his next appearance at Chelmsford Crown Court on December 13th, 2019.

A bail condition is that he does not enter Harlow.

On 14/11/2019 at Harlow without lawful excuse, damaged glass panel and window to the value of unknown belonging to Jennifer Crush intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.

On 14/11/2019 at Harlow had with you an article, namely a Stanley blade , to which section 139AA of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 applied in a public place, namely Bowhill Way, Harlow , and unlawfully and intentionally threatened another person, namely another male , with that article in such a way that there was an immediate risk of serious physical harm to that person.

    Five years in jail at least.
