Harlow Town Football Club victim of ram-raiding
Crime / Sat 4th Apr 2020 at 07:36am
ON FRIDAY afternoon, Harlow Town FC suffered a break-in, causing extensive damage to their storage garage and club shop.
A spokesperson said: “Our garage was ram-raided with a vehicle, and the perpetrators made off with pitch maintenance equipment, but not before they caused significant damage both externally and internally.
“At a time when non-league football clubs up and down the country are having their finances and very existence tested to an unprecedented level, it’s heartbreaking that these individuals can take it upon themselves to inflict even more difficulties.
The coronavirus outbreak has seen our football season cut short, and with the necessary social distancing measures that have been introduced and revenue streams harder and harder to come by, further expense and repair work is the last thing that was needed for anyone right now.
“The perpetrators were seen leaving the premises, and a police investigation is now underway. If anyone has any information, we urge them to contact the police at the soonest opportunity”.
