Tennison brothers continue to fundraise for London Marathon charity

Charity / Fri 1st May 2020 at 01:46pm

FOR the many people due to run the London Marathon at the end of April, the Covid-19 pandemic has seen the race moved back to October. But one prospective runner and his brother have decided to set themselves an alternative challenge.

Harry Tennison was due to run the London Marathon to raise money for the MS Society, a charity close to his families heart. But not to be put off by the rearranged date, Harry and his brother William, have set themselves a challenge to use their hourly exercise time to complete a marathon across a week, to raise money for the MS Society. Harry will be running and William will be cycling.

Harry said ‘The postponement of the marathon was somewhat inevitable, but what this has presented is a great opportunity for us to raise more money to support the vital work that the MS Society is doing within, the current limits on our day-to-day activity.’

MS is an auto-immune disease which is different for each individual. Your immune system normally protects you by fighting off infection, but in MS it attacks your nerves by mistake. There are over 100,000 people living in the UK with MS, and the MS Society conducts vital work in supporting those living with the disease and in researching new treatments.
