Athletics: Harlow runners keep on running!

YH’s sports channel has been a bit quiet over the last few months. We have especially missed the Athletics reports. Every Tuesday, Harlow Running Club sends us their weekly reports. Every Saturday, we report from the Harlow parkrun.
We follow the ParkrunandBeyond group. We like to follow individual school athletes as they progress in county and national championships. Plus there are the runners preparing and then taking part in the London Marathon.
We miss you all.
One compensation is that over the last three months, you do see a lot of people out running on the streets of Harlow. We do hope that, if the have just taken it up, then they will continue post-Covid-19.
So it send appropriate, that on Global Running Day (Wednesday), YH was down in the Greyhound car park, on their way to report on the Black Lives Matter rally. We saw three familiar faces from the Harlow running scene. So we asked them what they missed about competitive running?
Kerry Mavris said: “There is so many events over the period. I miss them all but I have really missed not doing the London Marathon this year.”
Holly Nairn said: “I really miss being down here (the town park) and being part of the parkrun. It is always so much fun and has a lovely spirit.
Louise Kedge said: “Like Kerry, there are so many events over the months. For example, I missed the Hatfield Broad Oak 10K on Bank Holiday Monday. Always seemed to be too warm and it would have been a warn one again but I still missed it”
And with that, the three runners disappeared into the distance to put in more miles around the town park.
