A MAN arrested on suspicion of rape in The Dashes area of Harlow has been released on bail until the end of the month.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating after a teenage girl reported she was raped near Maddox Road, Harlow, on the evening of Friday 31 January.

She is being supported by specialist officers and a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape. He was released on bail until February 26.

Anyone who was in the Maddox Road area between 10.25pm on Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February and saw anything suspicious is asked to please call 101 quoting incident 1262 of today’s date.

ESSEX Police has sealed off a playground area in a field in Harlow.

The Dashes playground sits just off Maddox Road in Harlow.

Officers have been positioned there since early afternoon.
