Four charged with assault on teenage boy in Market Square

THREE men and a woman have been charged following an investigation into the assault of a teenage boy in Harlow.

Police were contacted at around 3.15pm on Tuesday 7 July with reports a 15-year-old boy had been assaulted in an alleyway off Market Square, in what they believe to be a targeted attack.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Working together, the Harlow Town Centre Team and community policing team carried out enquiries, resulting in four people being arrested and charged.

Sharon McCarthy, 52, of Hadley Grange, Harlow, Nigel Waters, 36, of Fullers Mead, Harlow, and John Francis, 50, of Parkway, Harlow, and Kane McCrisken, 26, of Quarry Spring, Harlow, were all charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

They appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday 10 July and were remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 7 August.
