Crime / Sat 22nd Aug 2020 at 10:32am

ESSEX Police has defended their decision not to attend at the scene of an all night party where well over a hundred people crammed into a three-bedroomed house.

AS YH reported, a number of residents on Tumbler Road rang 999 as they were kept awake by extremely loud music coming from a house in Nicholls Field.

The party started just after midnight and dispersed at after 6am.

YH understands that it was a one night let.

According to records, the property is owned by Keith and Denise Wotton.

Information regarding the property could be found on the website, of Wotton Homes, a property investment company.

The property is also advertised on their Facebook page, where you can click through to an air b’n’b listing for Nicholls House.

With a number of similar incidents around the country being dealt with robustly, many were hoping that Essex Police would take similar action but it was not to be.

Other residents were concerned that something similar to the Water Lane incident would happen.

An elderly resident told YH that they were left shaken by the ordeal and will seek to speak to their local councillors.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We received calls relating to a noise disturbance and in Nicholls Field, Harlow at around 1.50am on Saturday 22 August.

“As with all incidents, where we receive reports of situations where the Government’s guidance may not be being following our response it based on the information received and the threat, harm, and risk identified.

“At the time of this particular incident, officers were dealing with a number of other incidents where there was a greater threat, harm or risk to the public had been identified so were unable to attend”.

YH will continue to follow this up as neither Essex Police nor Harlow Council have yet to indicate that they are going to investigate this matter.

Sounds like something similar to an Air B&B - the house looked lovely on Wotton Homes website - I wonder what it looked like after the party?
