Harlow’s YCT appoints a new CEO

YCT, the Harlow-based youth mental health charity that supports children and young people through counselling, therapeutic support and mentoring, is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Anastasiou as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Andrew joins YCT with an impressive track record of involvement in organisations that support children and young people. Andrew founded and for 12 years ran CHILD UK, who were highly successful in using sport as a mechanism to transform the lives of young people in deprived areas. More recently he served as the Strategic Lead for the national charity StreetGames, in London and the East of England, he has been leading projects tackling food poverty, serious violence, hate crime, community development and health inequalities.

Asked to comment Andrew said “This is a really challenging time for young people, and especially how their mental health is being affected by the current environment. I am very excited to be leading YCT, who have done some amazing work helping change young people’s lives. My aim is to lead YCT through our next stage of development and help develop the organisation to deliver grow their influence in this field and deliver more impact for more young people.”

Neil Frost, Chair of Trustees said: “The YCT Board and staff are looking forward to working with Andrew on our three-year Strategic Plan, as YCT moves forward into its next phase of development.”
