Burnt Mill Academy / Tue 20th Oct 2020 at 06:08am
A WHOLE year group at a Harlow school is off due to a number of cases of Covid-19.
Senior management at Burnt Mill Academy on First Avenue in Harlow took the decision at the weekend and wrote to parents and guardians.
In the letter, jointly signed by Headteacher Ms McGlashan and Associate Headteacher Mr Collins, explain that they have had three positive cases in Year 9 which had meant several pupils and staff members had to self isolate.
They went on to explain that with another case at the weekend, the school were now down to a “skeleton staff…so do not have enough adults to supervise the whole school”
The Head explained that due to these circumstances, the whole of Year 9 has been asked to stay at home until November 2nd.
The Head stresses that they will revert to doing lessons on-line.
YH contacted BMAT but they did not wish to add anything beyond the contents of the letter.
