Remembrance Sunday in Harlow moves on-line

Update: The service will be streamed tomorrow from 10.30am on Harlow Council’s Facebook channel and their YouTube channel

HARLOW Council and the Harlow Royal British Legion are encouraging the local community to pay their respects from home this year, as Remembrance Sunday in Harlow is commemorated online.

A video including two minutes’ silence, readings, prayers, hymns and wreath laying, that would usually feature as part of the town’s organised service at the Netteswell Memorial Cross in the town park, will be pre-recorded and streamed ‘live’ on Harlow Council’s and Harlow Playhouse’s Facebook pages on Sunday 8 November 2020. More details on the timings for online event will follow.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic a public service at the Memorial Cross will not be held this year.

Residents are encouraged to display poppies on their windows leading up to and on the day of the service and observe a two-minute silence on their doorsteps.
