1st Great Parndon Scout Group Rememberance Display 2020.

From Zoe Maidement. 1st GP BSL

NORMALLY our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts along with their leaders would be joining other local groups parading on Rememberance Sunday to Netteswell Cross.

Unfortunately due to the limitations of lockdown this is not possible this year.

However, we still wanted to show that we remember and still do a display as we have in previous years. This obviously had to still be a socially distanced activity so jars to be decorated were distributed at home to all young members who wished to take part.

Our display this year especially remembers those servicemen who lost their lives in conflict and are buried in Harlow. Some jars have names on but as we have more members than there are War Graves some are just for remembrance.

We have researched every serviceman and their stories from our research is posted on the fence as well.

On Armistice Day, after the two minutes silence I will take the named jars to their respective graves to show that they are remembered.

The information on the cards can be found at Facebook at 1st Great Parndon Scouts Remembrance Display 2020.
