Accuro set to launch Santa Dash
Charity / Sun 22nd Nov 2020 at 05:56pm
THE ‘Santa Dash’ is an event loved by charities and their supporters everywhere. On Saturday 5th December, local charity Accuro, who provide services for people with a disability, are holding a Santa Dash with a difference – this year, the event has gone virtual!
Participants can sign up to receive their ‘Santa Pack’ complete with Santa Suits for adults and Santa Hats for Children. All participants will receive a Christmas Tree Decoration that can also be worn as a medal. The event is being held to raise funds and awareness for the charity, who provide clubs and services to children, young people and adults with a disability in West Essex.

Accuro’s Community Fundraiser Chloe Salisbury said, “We could all do with something light-hearted and fun this year and we thought the Santa Dash was just the thing! We’re making the run as flexible and accessible as possible, participants can sign up and run, walk or ride their own route and distance – they can even run on a different day if they prefer. We’re just keen to have as many ‘Santas’ spreading Christmas cheer in support of Accuro as possible!
We are not setting a fundraising target, but raising just £20 could sponsor a club session for two of our members, giving them the opportunity to socialise and develop life skills.”
Accuro have been running clubs and services throughout the pandemic with members meeting for group sessions on Zoom. Fundraising from events like this will help enable the charity to keep running services both face to face and online for local people with a disability.
