Harlow Foodbank issue a message of thanks

WE HAVE run a number of Harlow Foodbank stories over the past few months.
As we approach the end of the year, the chief executive, Andy Thornton has a message of appreciation.
Andy said: “This Christmas we expect to be feeding around 500 families through our work in the food banks and also in our support for other charities around the town.
All of this has been donated by supporters in and around Harlow. We have had over 29 tonnes (29,000 Kg) donated in November and December.
That is around 70,000 meals worth of food! We have had immense support by our volunteers who have had to sort through all that food and re-pack it.
What an incredible job they have done this year, we are so grateful to all the people who help in a hands-on way throughout the year.
“We can’t end the year without thanking the people of Harlow and the surrounding area for the immense generosity they have shown to each other through the Foodbank. It is an honour to help make it all happen.”
