Woman in eighties mugged on cycle track near Old Harlow

AN elderly woman was robbed of her handbag near a cycle track on Monday afternoon.
The attack took place near the underpass that links Market Street in Old Harlow with the cycle track.
An Essex Police spokesperson said:
“We were called to reports of a robbery in an underpass near to Park Hill, Harlow, shortly before 2pm on Monday 22 February.
The victim, a woman aged in her 80s, was robbed of her handbag by a man believed to be aged in his 40s who was wearing a black hooded coat.
A passer-by who witnessed the incident chased the suspect and was able to recover the woman’s bag.
The victim suffered injuries to her arm, shoulder and hip and was taken to hospital for treatment.
“We carried out a widespread search of the area but no arrests have been made and our enquiries continue.
