Big news for Livewire and young people in Harlow

AFTER a lot of hard work behind the scenes, local charity Livewire have secured over three years of funding from the National Lottery – Reaching Communities Fund.
Creative Director Sam Ashford said “It’s been a very long process which involved a lot of hard work. The application itself lasted 18 months and we had been working for over five years to position ourselves to make a bid as audacious as this! A massive thank you goes to Danielle Lawrence from The National Lottery for all of her help and support throughout this entire process!
With the next three years secure we can concentrate on the quality of our delivery and continue to reach out to new sections of the community. Our sessions begin straight after Easter and we are delighted to be able to offer more sessions and more chances to be involved in free drama, dance and music workshops.
I personally feel totally overwhelmed by this news and it feels like a personal milestone in my life. I began Livewire back in 2001 and we have always been three months away from not existing, it’s been really hard and stressful (clearly this is why I am so grey!). At times we have run Livewire without funding and sometimes without a home but now, it feels like we are ready to take on the world and we hope all the young people in Harlow come and join us!”
Details of workshops can be found in a promotional video via the Livewire website. https://www.livewiretheatre.co.uk/
