Harlow Tories unveil candidates for May local elections

General / Tue 6th Apr 2021 at 08:40am

THE Harlow Conservatives have unveiled their team for the elections in May.

On Thursday May 6th, there will be elections for Harlow District Council, Essex County Council and the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

There are two District By-Elections in Toddbrook and Church Langley due to the passing of two councillors (Frances Mason and Tony Hall).

Between now and May 6th, YH will be going from ward to ward, interviewing the candidates and finding about the issues that are coming up in the areas.

The Tories have been out of power in Harlow for almost nine years which contrasts with the vice like political grip Conservative MP Robert Halfon has on the town.

The challenge may be how they persuade the 27,510 voters (yes, 5,000 are in the villages) who turned out for Mr Halfon to turn out for them.
