HARLOW MP Robert Halfon rose on the floor of the House of Commons to express his concerns over a proposal by one university to drop the requirement for students to demonstrate a high-level proficiency in written and spoken English.
Mr Halfon felt it was entirely the wrong way to ensure that more people from disadvantaged backgrounds attend higher education.
We spoke to Mr Halfon on Friday afternoon to find out a little more about his feelings on this subject.
