The Harlow Alliance Party: Still the acorns that hope to grow into mighty oaks of local politics

THERE are a number of ways at looking at the Harlow Alliance Party.

Those who praise them look at the party that has Harlow’s past and future in their heart. If they didn’t love the town then they wouldn’t spend so much time concerned for its welfare.

Their constant questions at Harlow Council meetings, their articles here and their decision to stand at district and county elections indicates that they are committed and here to stay.

Their critics say they are noting more than the Statler and Waldorf of local politics. A party based on two men who just want to see a town full of bungalows.

From their launch event there was a hope that they would grow to have a full slate of candidates but has yet to happen.

YH met Nicholas Taylor and Alan Leverett at the market square to discuss why they were standing at both the local and district elections.
