Two Harlow men charged with theft of catalytic converters

TWO HARLOW men have been charged with the theft of catalytic converters across town.
Christopher Lee, aged 20, of Fern Hill Lane and John Mitchell, aged 19, of Fern Hill Lane, Harlow have been charged with the following.
Lee was charged with:
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow stole catalytic convertor of a value unknown, belonging to person unknown.
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow aided, abetted, counselled or procured John Mitchell to drive a Ford Mondeo dangerously on a road, namely South Road, Harlow.
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow not being at your place of abode, had with you articles for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft, namely angle grinder and a car jack.
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow without the authority of the Secretary of State, had in your possession a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of a gas, namely CS gas.
Lee has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Mitchell was charged with:
On May 5th, 2021 drove a Ford Mondeo dangerously on South Road, Harlow.
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow assaulted a police officer with intent to resist or prevent the lawful apprehension or detainer of yourself for an offence.
On May 5th, 2021 at Harlow stole catalytic converters, of a value unknown, belonging to persons unknown.
On May 4th, 2021 at Harlow not being at your place of abode, had with you articles for use in the course of, or in connection with, theft, angle grinder and a car jack.
Mitchell has pleaded guilty to charge one and not guilty to the rest.
A trial date of June 3rd, 2021 at Chelmsford Crown Court has been set.
Lee has been released on conditional bail
Mitchell has been remanded in custody.
