HARLOW schoolboy Danny Raymond produced an outstanding time in his first 800 metres of the season.
Stewards Academy student runs for Woodford Green and Essex Ladies AC.
For obvious reasons, last season was wiped out and so this was supposed to be his first tentative steps back on the track.
But at the Linford Christie Stadium on Wednesday night, the sixteen year old produced a time of 1.56.24.
This is one of the fastest times of the year for an Under-17 in the UK.
Danny’s coach John Stow tells us that these are the times that Harlow Olympian Andrew Osagie was running at this age.
Danny is a very exciting prospect and don’t forget his training may be limited this season as he prepares for his GCSEs.
Stewards Academy Senior Leader Alec Laing said “Danny has amazing talent, and his prospects look great at this time. We wish Danny all the best and look forward to following his progress all the way to the Olympics!”
