Police investigation after man stabbed in The Hides

Statement from Essex Police

We are investigating after a 20-year-old man was stabbed in The Hides, in Harlow, shortly before 2.30pm today, Sunday 6 June. 

We were called to the scene by colleagues in the ambulance service who were treating the man who had sustained injuries to his back, torso, head and hands. 

He has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not deemed to be life-threatening.

We believe he was attacked by a group of six to eight males aged in their late teens or early 20s who were all wearing dark-coloured clothing. 

No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information on it should call us on 101 and cite incident 778 of today, Sunday 5 June.

A LARGE part of The Hides area of Harlow has been sealed off by the police.

Officers taped off an area from near to Hughs Tower to a large section of one of the main roads at just after 1500 hrs (approx).

The Hides runs off Maddox Road, close to First Avenue.
