Harlow Council mark Armed Forces Day

History / Mon 21st Jun 2021 at 04:24pm

TODAY, a short, socially distanced ceremony was held to raise the flag for Armed forces Day, which falls on Saturday 26 June.

Armed Forces Day falls on this date each year and both honours and commemorates all those who put their lives on the line, and make the ultimate sacrifice, for our freedoms.

The ceremony was attended by members of Harlow Council, The Chair and Vice-Chair, Reverend Martin Harris and representatives from the Harlow branch of the Royal British Legion.

The flag will be flying outside the Civic Centre all week.

What are Labour councillors doing at this event? Was it not they who during the recent elections set up a petition to scrap the highly successful and popular Army Cadet programme at Burnt Mill Academy? What cynical hypocrisy!
