VJ Day Service of Remembrance at Harlow Town Park

A SERVICE of Remembrance for VJ Day was held at Harlow Town Park on Sunday morning.
The event was organised by the Harlow branch of the Royal British Legion.
It was led by Reverend Albert Watson.
The event marked the 76th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day.
Pam Gillespie, (the daughter of George Money, who was a prisoner in the Far East), made an emotional speech, where she made reference to the men of Harlow who suffered as prisoners.
Pam also brought a digital portrait of 1,000 men who were kept captive across South East Asia.
The chair of Harlow Council, Clive Souter also spoke.
The service sheets were printed by Daniel Robinson and Sons. Manager, Derek Oakley was present.
