A BALL to raise money for two much-loved Harlow charities has raised over £11,000.

The charity ball was organised by ARG. ARG are a long established family run group of companies specialising in asbestos surveying, licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal and mechanical and electrical works.

They made the easy decision to host a charity ball in October to raise some money and give back to the local community.

Their chosen charities, the Harlow Chocolate Run and Streets2Homes are charities which are close to their hearts.

They invited friends, colleagues and customers, along with representatives of the charities to join them on the evening at Down Hall Hotel and asked them to donate generously to these worthy causes. 

100% of the money raised is being split equally between the chosen charities and so far they have raised over £11,000 with donations still coming in!

Chris Blair, Managing Director, ARG Group said: “There is a time for everything, a time to receive and a time to give. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”

Kerrie Eastman, Chief Executive Officer, Streets2Homes: said: “We feel honoured to have been one of the chosen charities and very grateful to all at ARG for the monies raised. This is a real boost for us after such difficult times over the past 18 months”

Jo Busson, Chair, The Chocolate Run said: “The Chocolate Run was delighted and extremely grateful to be chosen by The ARG Group to be one of their two nominated Homeless Charities to benefit from the monies raised at their Charity Ball in October. 

The Chocolate Run is a small, self-funding charity and like so many other small charities, have found it extremely difficult to raise funds over the past 18 months. 

TCR Trustees were in the process of planning a much needed refurbishment to our kitchen facilities when the pandemic struck and closed us down. 

All monies donated to us by The ARG Group will help us put our kitchen refurbishment back on track so that we can re-open our much needed and well attended Sunday evening, hot meal provision as soon as possible.”
